We Are Made of Stardust
I believe there is nothing after we die.
Our bodies go back into the environment and our energy goes back out into the universe. That could be one reason why our universe is expanding!
My piece is a suitcase covered with all the empty boxes of medication I'm taking. I have metastatic breast cancer, and these medications are keeping the cancer from coming back for as long as I can tolerate them. I'm also taking medications to counter the damaging effects of these medications. The inside is painted black, as you can't take anything into nothing, with a glass representation of the universe that we go back into.
This is the first piece I have made since I recently broke my femur and found out my breast cancer had metastasised. I was at university studying for my second degree when I had my initial breast cancer diagnosis. I made a lot work to originally help me through. This current process has really enabled me to deal with the recent findings.
